Gender Minister and team visit Chef Failatu as she prepares to round up Cook-A-Thon

The Minister  of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu, has lauded the effort of Chef Failatu for her commitment to set an unbreakable record in the Guinness World Record as the longest cooking marathon.

She said Chef Failatu’s zeal should serve as an empowerment drive for the youth to be inspired. She said this on GBC Lifestyle TV when she visited Chef Failatu to support her.

As part of her visit, she donated an amount of GHC5000 to the cook. 

She said the Ministry will collaborate with Chef Failatu to set up a training school to train young girls and women and the youth in general in culinary art.

The Minister used the occasion to admonish the youth particularly, girls to endeavor to learn culinary art from their mothers.

Hajia Zuweira, said her Ministry will put heads together to come up with an initiative to sustain opportunities such as the Cook-A-Thon. 

Chef Failatu’s team has decided to stop her today, Wednesday, January 10, 2023 despite her desire to continue, after more than 224 hours of non-stop cooking in an attempt to BREAK and SET a new Guinness Book World Record.
