Ghana and Burkina Faso agree to find solution to Bagre Dam spillage

Ghana and Burkina Faso have entered into agreement that will find a lasting solution to the annual spillage of the Bagre Dam. The two countries are also in talks to deal with the fulani menace and transporting electricity from Ghana to Burkina Faso. Speaking to Journalists after bilateral talks with Kabore of Burkina Fasso, President Akufo-Addo said a meeting on the Volta Basin will soon be convened in Accra.
The day’s visit by the Burkinabe leader Marc Christian Kabore is a reciprocal one. A similar visit was paid by President Akufo -Addo to Ouagadougou in May last year. The bilateral talks centred on peace, security and trade within the ECOWAS sub region. They also discussed matters of common interest including the fight against terrorism, the Bolgatanga- Bingo Electricity interconnection project and the interconnection of fibre.
Energy , railway and road transport also featured in the discussion. A prominent issue that engaged the attention of the two leaders was the issue of bagre dam.Spillage
