Ghana gets 14 E-waste depots to mitigate pollution

The European Commission in conjunction with the University of Cape Coast, Ghana Cleaner Production Centre and Accra City Waste Recycling Company has established 14 Electronic Waste Collection Depots throughout the country.

This has assisted with the collection of one thousand 496 tonnes of e-waste from Small and Medium Scale Enterprises.

The Project Coordinator, E-Waste Management, Ghana- E-MAGIN, Prof. Rosemond Boohene of the University of Cape Coast, said addressing the e-waste menace has economic benefits, whilst addressing health issues and climate change.
