Ghana’s Anita Kiki Gbeho appointed Deputy Special Rep for UN Assistance Mission in Somalia

UN Secretary-General, António Guterres has appointed Ghana’s Anita Kiki Gbeho as the new Deputy Special Representative for the UN Assistance Mission in Somalia.

She succeeds Raisedon Zenenga of Zimbabwe who is now Assistant Secretary-General and Mission Coordinator of the UN Support Mission in Libya.

Ms. Gbeho has over 25 years of experience in strategic planning, coordination and management in political development and humanitarian affairs at UN Headquarters and in field operations.

Some of her works are the establishment of high level political and strategic relations with national authorities, regional bodies and partners in conflict and post-conflict environments and diverse settings such as Angola, Namibia, Sudan, Somalia among others.

Since May 2018, Ms. Gbeho served as Deputy Joint Special Representative of the UN-AU Hybrid Operation in Darfur where she led the development and implementation of the Mission’s transition strategy.
