Ghana's President & His Vice Eulogise Justice V.C.R.A.C Crabbe

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr, Mahamudu Bawumia on behalf of the government and the people of Ghana, have paid a glowing tribute to His Lordship Justice. Vincent Cyril Richard Arthur Charles Crabbe, popularly known as V.C.R.A.C.

Justice V.C.R.A.C Crabbe died in Accra on Friday, September 7, at age 95, after a short illness.

President Akufo-Addo in his tribute described Justice Crabbe as a respected public servant, eminent jurist, and accomplished Ghanaian and patriot, who served his country with distinction, and contributed immensely to  Ghana’s jurisprudence and development.

According to President Akufo-Addo, V.C.R.A.C Crabbe was the first  Ghanaian Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Justice of the Supreme Court, adding that: “His discipline, honesty and integrity made him an outstanding servant of the Ghanaian people and of the public interest. His objective was always the advancement of Ghana, and not partisan considerations. Even in old age, he continued to make crucial interventions in our nation’s discourse. Ghana has lost a dedicated nationalist and fine gentleman.”

 

For his part, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said V.C.R.A.C Crabbe played an unprecedented role in the development of law, as well as, democratic institutions in Ghana, and was a fearless advocate.

May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may God bless him.
