Government has been commended for introducing audacious policies and programmers which appear herculean but potentially transformative to turn around the country’s wobbling economy into a resilient one.
Policy initiatives like the Free Senior High School, One Million Dollars Per Constituency, One -District-One-Dam, One-District-One-Factory, Zongo Development Fund, Planting For Food and Jobs and Rearing for Food and Jobs have been highly praised in the Bia West District.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Oseikojokrom, Alhaji Abdulai Yajubu, the Bia West District Chief Imam, said such bold initiatives could only come about and implemented through what he called “tough minds and willing hearts.”
He showered profound praises upon President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration for having “long term wellbeing of the nation and its people at heart”.
He said with genuine commitment, the policies enumerated above could easily be accomplished and to make a lasting impact on the lives of Ghanaians and generations yet born.
However, the Chief Imam urged government to remain focused and “fight the good fight” which would surely bring victory in the next general elections.
He also urged Ghanaians to bear with the President and his government, when the going gets tough while implementing the transformational policies, saying: “since no new thing comes so easily, it takes a lot of patience.”
“Every new thing comes with teething problems and so are these policies, what is needed now, is concerted efforts by the government and the citizenry to ensure the successful implementation of the policies,” he said.
The Imam appealed to Ghanaians not to play politics with issues of national interest, but play their individual and collective roles effectively, so that they could all enjoy the benefits thereof.
He also urged the President to always be in touch with the grassroots and espouse his achievements more forcibly to the populace.
“Try as much as possible to make sure that the national cake is equitably distributed,” he said.
“The right things must get to the right people at the right time, through the right channels and this will make Ghanaians appreciate you better and longer.”
