Government has no plans of suspending COVID-19 testing at KIA – Information Minister

Government has urged stakeholders to cooperate and support testing of COVID-19 at the airport (Kotoka International Airport – KIA) which is a public private partnership between the airport company and Health Frontiers.

Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, in an interview said the antigen test currently underway for passengers arriving at the airport.

The Minister announced that Government has no plans of suspending the test at the airport, changing the company or suspending the contract.

He said the company facilitating the test, health frontiers is providing a critical service to protect the thirty million Ghanaians from importation of cases.

Reacting to claims by the minority caucus in Parliament questioning the operation of the company task to perform that duty, Mr. Nkrumah said government is satisfied with the test by health frontiers which has helped to prevent 50 cases from getting to the country.
