Government will this year (2020), inject 200 million cedis into the implementation of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP).

About 500 million cedis will also go into the School Feeding Programme to expand the number of beneficiaries.

Government will also provide 200 dollars to each LEAP beneficiary and equip them with entrepreneurial skills after exiting the programme to make them financially independent.

Director at the Social Protection Directorate, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Rita Owusu-Amankwa, announced this at the premiering of a video documentary on the impact of the LEAP programme in Accra.
