President Akufo-Addo has delivered the State of the Nation Address to Parliament with major focus on the Economy, Health, Education and Agriculture sectors. On the Agyapa Royalties Deal, President Akufo-Addo said Government will institute processes to engage Parliament on the steps it intends to take on the future of the transaction. He gave the strongest hint that the controversial deal that failed to see the light of day in the 7th Parliament will be resurrected in the 8th Parliament.

The President said from April this year, all National ID numbers will automatically become TIN and SSNIT Numbers. He said 15.5 million persons have been enrolled onto the Ghana Card.

President Akufo-Addo said his Government was able to sustain the jobs of persons working in the public sector despite the economic impact of COVID-19. He however lamented that a number of persons lost their jobs in the private sector while others had their salaries slashed during the height of the pandemic in Ghana.

The President said about 770,000 workers had their wages reduced and about 42,000 employees were laid off during the three-week partial lockdown imposed
