Government’s free water supply to Ghanaians ends by December 31, 2020

The Ghana Water Company Limited says it will end the free water supply for Ghanaians by 31st December 2020 which was part of effort to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Manager of Company, Stanley Mantey indicated that the payment of the water bills will now be the responsibility of customers.

The Company assured the public that its meter reading officers and officials will have the company ID and also adhere to all the safety protocols before entering their premises to discharge their duties.

It urged Landlords and Water vendors to resume the collection of bills prior to the free water delivery.

Also, disconnected customers who have been connected to have access to the free water will be disconnected but will be reconnected after full payment. It said all GWCL collection and payment points will be opened during working hours to enable customers make payments.

Customers are also urged to use the mobile money payment option with all telecommunication networks.
