Investigate missing litres of Gas & cables worth millions at TOR- COPEC

The Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), has been caught up in the disappearance of 105,000 liters of Gas as well as the theft of ¢10 million worth of cables, leading to the interdiction of some members of staff.

In a statement, the Interim Management Committee of TOR raised issues of production losses which were discovered after Technical and Human Resource audits.

Additionally, it talked about the disappearance of LPG belonging to a client between 2012 and 2015, as a result of which TOR became indebted to some clients to the tune of four-point -eight million dollars.

The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC), has been very vociferous in its calls to the government to save TOR from collapse due to indebtedness.

Speaking on GBC’s Behind the News, Executive Secretary of COPEC, Duncan Amoah called on EOCO, the Special Prosecutor and other investigative bodies in Ghana to take over the investigations and ensure that it comes to a logical conclusion.
