The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana, (JUSAG), says it will embark on a nation-wide strike on Wednesday, November 13, to demand the review and implementation of members salaries.
JUSAG noted that the current salaries of members was implemented in the year 2017 and same was to be renewed bi-annually.
However, in 2017 the Ministry of Finance cancelled the payment of rent allowance.
After several protests, the Judicial Council, government and JUSAG resolved the matter with the reviewed salary to be implemented this year.
A statement signed by JUSAG President, Alex Nartey said JUSAG wrote for salary negotiations in April this year and served a reminder on July 29, but that has not been done.
The Association said it is aware that the Ministry of Finance has slated any salary review for the year 2020 and subsequent implementation in the year 2021.
This, JUSAG says it vehemently disagrees with, hence the industrial strike action.
The statement the Association has resolved after a meeting that all staff should put on red-arm bands and hoist red flags at the courts nationwide from November 5.
It also directed that all staff of the Service should start an indefinite strike from November 13, 2019 until further notice.
It called on the Judicial Council and government to immediately address members concerns.
