A driver was discovered unconscious while operating a vehicle on the bustling streets of Abeka-Lapaz, capturing the attention of pedestrians and motorists.

The unidentified unconscious driver was promptly assisted and transported to Lapaz Community Hospital.

An eyewitness, Alphonse Kossivi, recounted, “I was at Tabora number 6, and I came to Lapaz to pick a car to Carprice. Upon reaching the station, I noticed a white Elantra car parked by the roadside after the traffic light turned green. It remained stationary despite other cars honking for it to move.”

“After a while, bystanders began shouting, drawing attention to the situation. Eventually, some individuals rushed to summon two police officers stationed under the main traffic light. Upon their arrival, they attempted to get the attention of the occupant inside the white Elantra car by knocking on the windows, but received no response.”

Subsequently, some individuals broke the car’s rear window to access the vehicle, discovering the driver unconscious.”

He explained that the police promptly hailed a taxi to transport the unconscious individual to Lapaz Community Hospital. Later reports indicated that the driver had succumbed.

“I recorded the incident to raise awareness, as the identity and origin of the driver were unknown.”

He further added, “The car lacked a licence plate, but during my recording, I noticed a number on the car, indicating ASAFO Motors, where the deceased had purchased the vehicle. I contacted the number, and the individual stated that the deceased had recently acquired the car. They subsequently informed the deceased’s family of the situation.”

The report coming from Lapaz Community Hospital is that the man has passed away.
