Melcom donates furniture to Achimota Hospital

Melcom Group of Companies through its philanthropic arm known as Melcom Care Foundation has donated some office furniture to Achimota hospital in Accra.

The items presented are one three-in-one visitor’s chair, one office table and one pivot office chair worth thousands of Ghana Cedis in response to a request made by the Hospital.

In his remarks, the Director of Communications for the Group, Godwin Avenorgbo noted that his boss and the management are always happy to give out as “a service to Ghanaians”.

According to him, Melcom has two strong pillars in the areas of education and health which they are committed to committing their resources to support it in any form because “when the nation is fit, business goes on well”.

Mr. Avenorgbor added that they have to do more, since “my chairman believes that, when we do this we are not doing a favor to Ghanaians”.

He said, “it is our duty to do it, so for choosing pillars like education and health what this means is that we need healthy people; capable of working, earning money to be able to buy from us.”

“Melcom believed that it’s a support system it has created to motivate, to encourage and to support health for the reason that it’s a service we are obliged to render.”

Receiving the items on behalf of the Hospital, the Acting Medical Superintendent, Salamtu Attah Nantogma said, they are grateful for the kind gesture extended to them.

“We are grateful that Melcom responded to our call on time.”

According to her, it will help them respond to emergency needs of women especially.

She stated, “this equipment will be installed in the newly created emergency maternity unit downstairs for easy access as well as better and quick service delivery.”
