‘’Memoirs from the Hilltop’’- A book by Kofi Otutu Adu Labi

Prolific Ghanaian Writer, Kofi Otutu Adu Labi has encouraged people to do their best and record their lifetime experiences to serve as a guide to the younger generation.

Speaking to journalists in Accra after the launch of his 10th published book titled “Memoirs from the Hilltop”, Mr Adu Labi, a Lawyer and Management Consultant, observed that many of the older generation do not share stories on their life struggles and successes. As a result, the young ones always end up trying to do things anew and repeating the mistakes of old. William Owusu Boateng witnessed the book launch reports that Books under the authorship of Kofi Otutu Adu Labi include “Stories to Warm Your Heart”, “They touched us for good”, “All Bright and Beautiful”. The latest one, Memoirs from the Hilltop reflects and celebrates God’s grace, love and mercy upon the author’s life.

A former Chairman of the National Media Commission, Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng who reviewed the book was of the belief that it can serve as the sourcebook for character building for people of all ages and situations. He lauded the author for his sense of humility which reflected in his style of writing.

The book launch attracted high-profile personalities including the Deputy Minister of Finance Abena Osei Asare, Heads of State institutions, Diplomats and the Clergy.

The Author, Kofi Otutu Labi said each one has a story to tell regarding the ups and downs of life.

“Such experiences, he said, need to be documented to guide the new generation,’’ he noted.

Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Philip Addison said the book has many lessons to offer, the old and young as it encompasses life and its bearing.

The Former Chief Justice, Mrs Georgina Theodora Wood who was the Chairperson, said everyone, irrespective of status in society, has a contribution to make to everyday life. Sounding philosophical, Mrs. Wood asserted that the “Nightingale sings, so does the frog, and the Lord God made them all”.
