Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, has denied claims he shared up to ¢1 million to NPP Executives in the Ashanti Region in furtherance of his alleged presidential ambitions.

In a statement, Dr. Akoto said such claims were fabricated.

He argued that meeting 17 constituency executives for each of the 47 constituencies in his house meant he is receiving about 700 delegates adding that his house does not have the capacity to accommodate such numbers.

He further noted that his recent trip to Kumasi was to rest and try to recover from a fever.

He admitted he met some party executives at his home to discuss matters concerning welfare issues, however, such meetings ended with an amount given as transportation to guests who came from far and near.

Dr. Akoto also refuted claims he was leveraging his relationship with President Akufo-Addo to further his political ambitions.

He said there is a deliberate effort by detractors from within and outside the NPP to cause disaffection between him and the NPP and between Government for which he has worked hard during the last four years.
