More than 100 culprits face prosecution for illegal mining in Kyebi Forest Reserve

The Deputy Regional Manager of the Forestry Commission, Emmanuel Owusu Nkwantabisa, has hinted that over one hundred people are facing prosecution for engaging in illegal mining activities within the Kyebi forest reserve.

In an interview with the media in Koforidua as part of activities to mark the International Day of the Forest, on the theme, “the forest our health”, Mr. Nkwantabisa warned individuals engaged in illegal mining, and other activities that destroy the forest to desist from the act as they will face the full rigors of the law when apprehended.

He said the forest needs to be preserved for future generations.
