Host of Onua TV/FM morning show in Accra, Blessed GodsBrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart who was arrested by the Nima Divisional Police Command on Thursday, December 2, has been released.
A statement by the Ghana Police Service said Captain Smart was arrested for making “some unsavoury pronouncements that hinge on peace and security.

Meanwhile, Media General, Owners of Onua FM and TV, in a statement said comments made by Captain Smart, leading to his arrest were misinterpreted by the Police.
The company said it is increasingly becoming concerned about the new trend of arrest of journalists and media practitioners.
According to the statement, this trend has mainly affected journalists who work with Media General.
It said like every Ghanaian, media practitioners must be protected by the Constitution.
