National Cardiothoracic Centre receives support

The Acting Director of the National Cardiothoracic Centre, at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Prof. Mark Mawutor Tettey has reiterated calls to individual and organizations to partner the centre to give hope to vulnerable persons with heart conditions at the Centre.
Prof. Tettey made the call when Kasaereko Company Limited, producers of Awake donated GH¢75,000 to the Centre as part of its corporate social responsibility.
The Cardiothoracic Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has been in existence since the early sixties.
Children with complications of chest infections, Complications of chest injuries in both children and adults, Children with congenital heart disease, Children and young adults with destroyed heart valves following rheumatic heart disease following are all cases treated at the centre.
The Kasapreko company, through its “One4Life” charity-driven project, had over the years provided hope and supported patients with heart conditions, especially children.
More than one hundred children have benefited from the quarterly support to the centre .
This latest donation is a cheque for GH¢75,000.
Receiving the cheque, the Acting Director of the National Cardiothoracic Centre, at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Prof. Mark Mawutor Tettey called on other stakeholders to join Kasapreko Company to help give hope to children and persons with heart conditions.
He also said the centre needs to be expanded to avoid overcrowding.
A Surgical Consultant at the National Cardiothoracic Centre, Dr. Enstua Mensah was grateful to the company for their quarterly support to the support.
