National Road Safety Authority in Upper West cautions drivers this year

The National Road Safety Authority is appealing to drivers to put the lives and interests of their passengers first before any other interest during this yuletide.

Upper West Regional Director of the Authority, Mohammed Abdul-Samad said the tendency for drivers to disobey road traffic regulations in the name of money is very high at this time of the year.

Drivers Mr. Samad said should therefore abide by road traffic regulations to ensure safety of passengers and other road users.

The Regional Director of the Authority stated this in an interview with Radio Ghana at Wa in the Upper West Region.

On how the Authority is working with its new mandate, Mr. Abdul Samad said the Authority is awaiting the LI to be passed by parliament.

He said while the Authority awaits the passage of the L I, it is collaborating with other key institutions to minimize accidents on the roads.

He said ensuring road safety is a collective responsibility and urged all to be on board to ensure safety on the road.
