NEDCo to retrieve GH₵100 million from customers in Sunyani

The Sunyani Area Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has set itself a target of recovering 25 million out of the about 100 million Ghana cedis owed it by customers in its operational areas, through a comprehensive general revenue mobilisation and loss control exercise. 

The exercise begins Monday, June 24, 2024, and according to the Sunyani Area Manager of NEDCo, Engineer Eugene Odoi Addo, this is the fifth phase of the revenue mobilisation drive. 

Phase five of the general revenue mobilisation and loss control exercise of NEDCo will cover all categories of customers in its operational areas, apart from a selected critical few. During  the four-week exercise, according to NEDCo, special security arrangements will be put in place to arrest and prosecute anyone who interferes with the exercise.

The Sunyani Area Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has targeted recovering 25 million out of the national target of 100 million cedis from customers, according to the Area Manager, Engineer Eugene Odoi Addo, in an interview.

He said phase four of the exercise saw the Sunyani Area NEDCo collect 19 million of a targeted 25 million cedis. 

The NEDCO Area Manager spoke of challenges including illegal connections, illegal acquisition of logistics and non-payment of bills.

He entreated customers and those in arrears to pay their bills immediately to avoid disconnection.

The Sunyani Area NEDCo Boss advised those involved in various forms of illegal and unauthorised connections to stop and desist from such actions to avoid a brush with the law.
