The Catholic Bishops’ Conference has taken a swipe at the government for failing to engage in broader consultation in fixing the current economic challenges facing the country.

They  argued that, until government realizes the need to draw the expertise of others in its economic and social decisions, the country may not come out of its current situation.

The President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Most Rev. Philip Naameh called on the government to take another look at involving Civil Society Organizations, the church and other political parties in the the ongoing IMF negations.

He was speaking at the annual plenary assembly of the Bishops’ Conference at Donkorkrom in the Eastern region.

The  Eastern regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong assured that the government is employing pragmatic solutions to fix the current economic situation.

He was hopeful that the country will be out of the economic challenges with the support of all stakeholders on board.
