Government is installing weigh-in bridges for the Ghana Manganese Company and the Takoradi Habour to give accurate figures of tonnage of manganese.
Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Kwaku Asumah-Cheremeh announced this when he took his turn at the ‘Meet The Press’ series in Accra.
He said government will not allow any multi-national company to short change the system.
Government this year announced the shutdown of Ghana Manganese company ltd. for allegedly causing revenue loss of about $360 million to the State between 2010 and 2017.
Mr. Asumah-Cheremeh said the installation of the weigh-in bridges will give government accurate figures.
Mr. Asumah-Cheremeh said government is currently auditing the books of some mining companies and government will make the audit public.
