The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saed has warned persons trying to create conflict in the region to desist or be ready to take full responsibility for the consequences of their actions.

He said following the performance of the funerals of the late Overlords of Dagbon and the enskinment of a new Ya-Na, the region is currently enjoying relative peace, with hopes that this will usher in a new era of socio-economic development.

The Minister is however unhappy with recent developments in Dagbon, where some youth have accused him of interfering in chieftaincy matters in the area.

Addressing the 63rd Independence Parade in Tamale, the Regional Minister appealed to chiefs to call such individuals to order.

Eight hundred and eighty-seven (887) school children from First and Second Cycle Schools, as well as eight contingents from the Security Services, took part in the parade.

Awards were given to outstanding schools in the march past.
