The Okuapehene who doubles as the President of Akuapem Traditional Council, Oseadeeyo Kwesi Akuffo III  has pledged to unite the Traditional Area.
He made the declaration after the Chief of Aburi who doubles as the Adontenhene of Okuapeman Otoobuor Gyan Kwesi who has been acting as the president of the Traditional Council for the past seven years as a result of a protracted chieftaincy litigation handed over the mantle to the Okuapehene at Akropong in the Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
For the first time in seven years, all the divisional chiefs in the Traditional Area attended the Council Meeting to officially pledged their allegiance to the Okuapehene Oseadeeyo Kwesi Akuffo upon his gazette as the Paramount Chief of the Akuapem Traditional Area.

The Okuapehene pointed out that the Traditional Area needs development and that can be achieved when the Area leverages on its endowment that is education, healthcare, tourism  and environment.
He said, this can only be achieved when there is absolute peace within the Traditional Area.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong entreated all the divisional chiefs to uphold to peace for development in the Traditional Area.

He urged the paramountcy to act upon the declaration by ensuring peace prevails in all activities of the Traditional Council.

The Traditional Council Meeting brought together chiefs including the Mamfehene, Adokromhene, Amonorkromhene  Nifahene, Bekomhene and Lartehhene.
