Some parts of the Achimota-Pokuase on Accra-Kumasi Highway have submerged following the heavy downpour early hours of Friday, 8th April 2022.

The floodwaters have taken over the outer lane between the Neoplan Station and Ofankor Barrier as well as some parts of the main roads causing unbelievable vehicular traffic during the day.

Coupled with vehicle breakdowns in the flooding waters, a number of commuters were left stranded at various bus stops along the stretch.

Our reporter who used the road between the hours of 10am and 11:40am reports, that the situation was chaotic and stressful as many drivers had to use low gear in order to drive through what could be described as mini dams or rivers on a Major Highway between two cities, Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions.

The rain has also led to general human and vehicular traffic jams in parts of the capital city.
