The Chiefs and People of Tanyigbe in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region have appealed to the Ministry of Health for speedy completion of a Health Facility project that has been halted in the community. The project which began in 2020, includes a Clinic and a Bungalow for Health Staff.

It is meant to boost health care delivery in the area and its surrounding communities. Prior to this, the community started a similar project to replace the deplorable existing health Centre, but could not complete it due to financial challenges.

The Paramount Chief of Tanyigbe, Togbe Kodi Adiko who made the appeal, expressed the hope that when the project is completed, it would improve health care delivery, by avoiding situations where people have to travel long distances to seek medical attention.

Togbe Kodi Adiko spoke to GBC News on the side-lines, when the Community donated Medical Equipment to the Maternal and Neonatal Ward at the Health Centre.

A Representative of the Youth, Adams Agbeko expressed optimism that the medical equipment would be useful in the delivery of Maternal and Neonatal Healthcare.

The Medical Equipment includes delivery set, artery forceps, cord scissors, and a Wheelchair.

The equipment was purchased by the Youth of Tanyigbe, with support from an NGO in Health, Proactive Ghana. Staff of the Health Centre expressed gratitude for the gesture.
