President Akufo-Addo breaks silence on End Sars protest, calls for calm

President Akufo-Addo has joined all well-meaning persons in calling for calm, and the use of dialogue in resolving the #EndSARS impasse in Nigeria.

There has been mounting pressure on President Akufo-Addo, who is also the Chairman of ECOWAS, to intervene in the impasse which has led to the death of dozens of people.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, October 21, President Akufo-Addo said he has spoken to his Nigerian counterpart, President Buhari, who is committed to this end and has begun the processes that will lead to reform.

President Akufo-Addo said Violence, be it on the part of the Police or protesters, cannot be the solution.

He expressed his sincere condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones and wish the injured a speedy recovery.
