Renew mindset to achieve progress – Chief tells Ghanaians

A Senior Divisional Chief of the Shai Traditional Area, Nene Nagai Kassa, says Ghana has lost some values that propel development in a nation.

He said for the country to achieve any significant progress, Ghanaians have to renew their mindset.

Nene Kassa was speaking in Accra at the maiden Atta Mills seminar, by the Atta Mills Institute, to mark the seventh anniversary of the late President, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills.

He called on the Institute to anchor its pillars on peace, a virtue the late former President exhibited.

The first in the series of the Atta Mills seminar was organised by the Atta Mills Institute — a non profit, partisan Policy Think Tank.

The Institute focuses on creating a centre of research, learning and information dissemination.

A Senior Divisional Chief of the Shai Traditional Area, Nene Nagai Kassa, was happy with the establishment of the Atta Mills Institute which he said would immortalize the life of the late President.

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute, Koku Anyidoho, said the Institute will collaborate with the NCCE, to ensure citizens are empowered.

He was however unhappy about the lack of resources for the Commission.

The seminar was on the theme giving hope to building a better Ghana through mindset transformation.

Late Professor John Evans Atta Mills died on the 24th of July 2012 while in office.
