Security Analyst, Adib Saani, has raised concerns about recommendations contained in the report of the 3- Member Committee set up to probe disturbances leading to the death of 2 people in Ejura.

Mr Saani questioned whether the Committee’s recommendations were silent on the Ashanti Regional Minister who allegedly called in the Military and wondered why its Committee asked that the MCE and Police Commander of Ejura be either removed or transferred.

Mr Saani expressed the hope that further investigations would be conducted on the 2 persons who lost their lives on June 29, 2021, due to the riot.

“There are two elephants in the room that have been ignored, the regional minister not mentioned in the recommendations. I find that very unfortunate because he ordered the movement of the military in the first place and those in the decentralised level have been mentioned but he has not been mentioned. Another important thing is justice for the family. Unfortunately, there is no semblance of justice in the whole recommendation”, he spoke to Nathaniel Nartey.

On the issue of the government’s decision to acquire a new Presidential jet as hinted by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, Mr. Saani said a new jet for the Commander in Chief is a step in the right direction.

“I wouldn’t have any problem with that (buying a new Presidential jet) because the previous ones are problematic. I remember that scare involving the former President Kuffuor when they were in mid-air and had to make an emergency landing. I think one thing, it is time that we had a Presidential jet that would save us a lot of money,’’ according to Security Analyst Adib Saani.
