Workers’ Unions of the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies, SDD-UBIDS in the Upper West Region have described as discriminatory and unacceptable government’s decision to migrate staff of the university and two others to the Controller and Accountant General’s Department, CAGD payroll.
A statement issued in Wa signed by executives of the unions said they are highly discontented that as negotiations are on-going on the matter at the national level, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission has singled out SDD-UBIDS, CK Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences, and the University of Environment and Sustainable Development UESD to be migrated to the CAGD payroll.
The unions made up of the University Teachers Association of Ghana UTAG, Ghana Association of University Administrators GAUA, Senior Staff Association- Universities of Ghana, and the Teachers and Educational Workers Union, TEWU have therefore drawn the attention of the president to the matter.
