Residents of Teshie Nungua are surprised at the decision of the PURC to re-open the desalination water plant.
A statement signed by the Chairman of the Teshie Association Concerned Citizens, Seth Tagoe said water produced from the desalination plant is unwholesome and salty, therefore unfit for drinking.
The statement said the PURC must respect the constitutional and human rights of the citizens and stop pressurizing the GWCL to re-open the water plant.
It called  on GWCL to extend pipelines from the Motoway to join the SCANSCA line at the LEKMA hospital which is already on going and also make another extension from Okponglo.
The statement also wants more pipelines laid in  the Teshie Community. The Association calls on the President to intervene since it is a  life and death issue.
