The Metropolitan Chief Executive of Tema, Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La, with directive from the Ministry of Roads and Highways has demolished an unauthorised pavement by a private individual at Thirdes road extension at Tema Community two.
In an interview with Radio Ghana, the Major said the man, Sam Opoku Arthur, was reported by residents of the area about persistent road blocks as a result of sand he poured on the road.
He said they have invited him for explanation and authorised permit but the owner failed to heed to their calls, hence the demolition.
A Director at Urban Roads, Alhaji Abass Awotu, said the owner of the place will be surcharged because he did not follow the right process, adding that, a lot of materials he used do not meet the right specification.
