Ho set to host 66th Independence Day Celebration – MCE

The Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Divine Bosson has given the assurance that the Volta Region and for that matter the Ho Municipal Assembly is set to host the 66th Independence Day celebration tomorrow.

He said adequate measures have been put in place regarding the event ground, road network, security, lighting and water service delivery to ensure the safety and comfort of all visitors.

Mr Bosson who disclosed this at a press conference in Ho called on the citizens to come out in their numbers to witness the historic celebration to make it a success.

“This celebration comes with a lot of goodies. We have improved on our lighting system, we have improved on security, we have improved on our road network, we have improved on water delivery and we have improved in every social service delivery” he said.

The 66th Independence Day celebration, which is expected to bring together over 5,000 guests will be held at the Volta Regional Youth Resource Center at Adaklu, in the Adaklu District.

The Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Divine Bosson thanked president Akufo-Addo for the choice of Volta as the host.

He added that it has brought about rapid improvement in some areas especially, the road network linking Atimpoku to Ho.

He cautioned the public against taking advantage of the celebration to commit crime, adding that anyone caught will be dealt with according to the law.

“Those bad boys who think they are criminals, I want to tell them the security is ready for them, those people who think they can hide under the influence of this celebration and cause mayhem, the security is ready for them” he said.

Mr. Bosson bemoaned the refusal of some road users to make way for emergency vehicles within the Ho Municipality.

Meanwhile, the Volta Regional Coordinating Council in its efforts to ensure management of traffic on Monday March 6, has banned commercial tricycle operators from using some major roads within the Municipality.
