The Volta Regional Trade Investment and Cultural Fair 2019 slated from November 25, to December 8, 2019 at Jubilee Park, Ho in the Volta region has been launched in Accra.

The Volta Trade, Investment and Cultural Fair is expected to serve as a forum where potential investors, business people come face to face with opportunities in agro-based industries, innovative technologies, manufacturing products and service providers.

In addition to businesses that can attract investment to the Volta and Oti Regions, participants and exhibitors would also have the opportunity to network for the future.

Speaking at the launch, Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa said, this year’s event will witness “over 200 exhibitors from across the Volta Region and beyond, including countries like India, Togo, and Nigeria booking stands to showcase their products”.

According to him, they are expecting over 2,000 visitors comprising investors, the Business Community, Diplomats Contractors, Professionals in the Building Industry as well as Students, young Entrepreneurs, Manufacturers among others.

Dr. Letsa revealed that they are optimistic the fair will help foster partnership and synergy between the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) and the private sector.

“There will be business to business group meetings, technical seminars and matchmaking session”, he added.

The main objectives of the Fair are to: Promote agriculture, food production, agro-based industries and agro-businesses and tourism in the regions.

Direct attention to the role of private sector in the economic development of the regions.

Indicate and unearth suitable areas and potentials for ‘local to foreign’ and ‘local to local’ partnerships

Promote accelerated development across the regions and to attract investment into the Regions as a whole.

The Volta and Oti Regions have many business potentials which remain untapped. The most important are in agriculture and tourism which are key sectors, capable of providing attraction to investment and employment.

The program was chaired by a Council Of State Member, Francis Albert Seth Nyonyo, and other personalities; Deputy Minister Trade and Industry, Carlos Ahenkora, Dela Gadzanku representing Association of Industries, (Volta-Eastern Region), The Chief Director, Volta Regional Coordinating Council (RCC)  plus others.
