The Paramount Chief of Winneba, Nee Nyi Ghartey the VII, has bemoaned the current encroachment on the Winneba Hunting Grounds by some cattle herders.

According to Nee Nyi Ghartey, this has led to the destruction of the reserve forest.

The Winneba hunting grounds are the Spiritual Sanctuary of the Simpas, where the two Asafo groups, Tuafo Asafo No. 1 and Dentsefo Asafo No. 2, hunt for bushbucks during the Winneba Aboakyer festival.

Nee Nyi Ghartey spoke to GBC’s Gifty Adjei as part of the Aboakyer festival in Winneba.
