Year of roads project is a success – President Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has credited successes chalked up in the Year of Roads Agenda of government to the leadership of the Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako Atta.

He said Mr. Amoako Atta will go down in history as the best Roads and Highways Minister the country has ever had.

Speaking at a durbar at Akwatia in the Eastern Region, the president said,  roads being constructed by his government are visible for all to see, and not only visible in a supposed “Green Book”.

President Akufo-Addo appealed to the Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwatia, Ama Sey to reconsider her decision to contest as an independent candidate after losing the parliamentary primaries to Ernest Kumi.

The Chief of Oseawuo, Osagyefo Dr. Asumadu Nyarko Appiah was pleased with  progress of work on the Akwatia town roads.

He described President Akufo-Addo’s governance as one of the best in the country’s history and endorsed him for the upcoming elections.

He donated fifty acres of land for the construction of a Teacher Training College at Akyem Wenchi.

A similar durbar was held for the president at Asamankese after inspecting ongoing construction of the Asamankese-Akroso road and Ashiayem-Oda road.

He earlier, inspected  ongoing construction of the Akim Oda-Amanfropong road, the asphalted overlaying of Akim Oda town roads and the construction of the Akwatia town roads.

He also commissioned a two-storey teachers’ bungalow and a one-storey Dormitory Block at the Attafuah SHS and cut sod for the construction of a two-storey Dormitory and Dining Hall at Akim Takorase Day SHS.
