Zoomlion undertakes disinfection exercise at Liberation Barracks in Sunyani

The Liberation Barracks in Sunyani, which is home to the Ghana Army’s Third Garrison and the 154 Armoured Regiment has become the latest to be disinfected as part of the on-going fight against COVID-19.

Speaking to the GBC at the Barracks, the Bono Regional Manager of Zoomlion, Esther Abayeta Asadoo, said beyond the disinfection of various premises, people need to abide by the various safety protocols in order not to derail the fight against Covid19 Pandemic.

Image previewThe about 50 strong spraying gang from Zoomlion were on hand to undertake the spraying at the liberation barracks.

They are expected to take two days to spray both offices, operational areas and residential sections of the Liberation barracks.

Speaking to the GBC, the Bono Regional Manager of Zoomlion, Esther Abayeta Asadoo, said the Army is crucial for the development of Ghana, hence the need to protect them from the Virus.

The start of the disinfection exercise was witnessed by the Leadership of the Liberation Barracks and the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, Justina Owusu Banahene, in brief remarks She said COVID-19 has come to stay and people need to change their lifestyles to stay free of it.

The Commander of the Third Garrison, Lt. Col John Kwarteng, for his part, noted that the Ghana Army has been up and doing in the fight against COVID-19 especially when it comes to enforcing various safety protocols and it was now time to turn their attention to the Barracks where the Soldiers live.
