A five-day Stakeholder Summit to lay bare the issues of Ghana’s Social Intervention Programmes has opened in Accra.
Under the auspices of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, the meeting will provide policy makers the opportunity to table challenges facing the Ministry and identify practical means of addressing them.
Opening the summit, the sector Minister Cynthia Morrison announced some interventions the Ministry is undertaking to improve the standard of women and children.
This year’s summit is focused on “Promoting social inclusion, leave no one behind”. The Director of Gender at the Ministry, Dr Afisa Zakaria said a lot is being done to ensure gender equality.
Dr Zakaria expressed the hope that the outcome of the summit will help improve the operations of the Ministry.
