The Daily Graphic describes as unfortunate, rumours circulating that the Office of the Special Prosecutor, OSP, is taking a political coloration. Even though the paper concedes that, these rumours are indications of public interest in the office, it believes the worst thing that could happen to the fight against corruption will be to situate it in unfounded rumours. While the public itches for the first cases of the office, the Graphic thinks it will not be prudent to apply unnecessary pressure which will ignite negative passion in the fragile emotions of any sections of the public. It therefore urges the Office of the Special Prosecutor to be guided by high professional standards in its investigations and close its ears and eyes to public commentaries that have the potential to distract it from its primary focus.

The Ghanaian Times is delighted at the rate of desilting works currently ongoing in the Greater Accra Region and is hopeful this year would record reduced floods in the city. The paper commends government, agencies and the contractors for the work done so far on the Odaw River and in the Kaneshie First Light area. It urges them to do more to prevent floods both in the city and the country at large. The Times believes government cannot achieve this alone, it therefore calls for attitudinal change by city dwellers who dump refuse in drains and build on water ways.
