The Daily Heritage raises concerns about the security situation in the country following the recent murder of an investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein Suale and the kidnapping of three girls in Takoradi. The Heritage is of the view that, the Police Service ought to seek collaboration from established intelligence bodies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI), the Central Intelligence Agency(CIA), and Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) in dealing with such complex crimes to tackle these criminals who want to seize the country.

The Ghanaian Times feels the free-to- shine campaign organised towards the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV by the First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akuffo Addo needs the support of all. This, the Times says will help the country to make progress in eliminating AIDS among children and mothers. It is however optimistic that the support from government and stakeholders would reduce the high rate of the disease drastically. The Times commends the First Lady and her colleagues in the fight against the deadly disease.

The Daily Graphic is worried about the absence of street lights and road markings as well as non-functioning traffic lights in the country. It is therefore happy that the Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwesi Amoako Atta during his turn at the “Meet the Press” series stated that the problem of faulty traffic lights will become a thing of the past by June this year. The Paper calls on the relevant state agencies, mostly metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies to ensure that bulbs in street lights are replaced as soon as they go off. The Graphic encourages Mr Amoako Atta to fix the numerous challenges in the road sector including the deteriorating conditions of roads.
