30 musicians from Hungary to perform at the Hungarian Cultural Week in Ghana

The Hungarian Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Andras Szabo has hinted that 30 musicians from Hungary will be performing at this year’s Hungarian Cultural week Celebration in Ghana.

The Hungarian Cultural Week Celebration is slated from Wednesday, April 10 to Saturday April 13.

Speaking on Uniiq FM Breakfast Drive, His Excellency Andras Szabo said the event is to promote better understanding between the citizens of Ghana and Hungary towards strengthening socio-economic partnerships.

He further explained that, this year’s cultural celebration will focus more on music where 30 musicians from Hungary will participate.

He said the celebration is not to impose Hungarian cultural projects on Ghanaians but to establish a good relationship between Ghanaian musicians and that of Hungary.

“I always say that we don’t wan to impose our cultural projects on Ghanaians but would prefer that Ghanaian musicians and Hungary musicians perform together.” He noted.

He added that, to promote musical relation between Ghana and Hungary, the organizers of the event have corporate with Sena Dagadu who is a half Ghanaian and Half Hungarian musicians popularly known in both countries.

He believes Sena Dagadu is an excellent bridge for promoting musical relation between Ghana and Hungary.

Activities for the the-week-long festival, include light painting workshop, questions and answers with artistes, wind album, listing party and jam sessions.

There will also be performances from the Corpus Quartet, Nart Orchestra and Irie Mafia featuring Yaa Pono, Sena Dagadu, Worlasi, One Love, Mensah, Mc Kermon and Ria Boss and a promotion of Hungarian sweet delicacies.

According to Sena Dagadu, both countries (Ghana and Hungary) have a lot in common when it comes to music and have a lot to share and learn from each other.

“There is a lot of emphasis on the actual collaboration because what we would like to see is not just this week long event just being a success, but a corporation in the future between Ghana and Hungary on cultural level not just on an economical or diplomatic level” she said.
