Ablekuma Central Constituency municipal status

Ablekuma Central Constituency is to gain a municipal status next month.

The Legislative Instrument (LI) to this effect has been laid before parliament and is expected to be passed when parliament resumes later this month.

Ablekuma Central is the biggest constituency in the country in terms of population with a population of 270 thousand people.

However, it is faced with serious sanitation challenges aside from bad roads and poor quality of education.

In an interview with Radio Ghana the Member of Parliament, (MP) for the constituency Ebenezer Narh Nartey says the immediate activity that will be undertaken is to tackle sanitation especially as Zoomlion is constructing a waste management plant in the constituency.

The MP also revealed some development projects to be undertaken in the constituency this year.
