Over 200 polling stations located on Island communities within Oti enclave

All is set for island communities within Oti enclave to also participate in the referendum scheduled for today December 27.

In all there are over 200 pulling stations that are located on the Islands within the proposed Oti enclave.

One major unique nature of Oti enclave compared to other areas that would be participating in today’s referendum is that there are many island communities within the proposed Oti enclave.

This Island communities can be found in four main districts namely Biakoye, Krachi East, Krachi West and Krachi Nchumuru.

The maintain challenges with these island communities with regards to voting are that the voting materials either gets there late or comes back late.

Either would mean voting may start late or results may be late in compilation.

But for today December 27, referendum, all electoral officers in these four main districts said as at 5:00pm yesterday, they have dispatched all voting materials to these island communities.

The Krachi Divisional Commander of Police – Superintendent Wowolo also said all the dispatched voting materials are accompanied by a security personnel.

Hence, for today’s referendum, it is hoped that the island communities can also start voting on time for their results also to be known early.
