The Ghana Education Service (GES) has assured parents, guardians, and students who wrote the just-ended Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) that every qualified candidate will be placed in a Senior High School or Technical School.

In a statement issued on May 14, 2026, and signed by the Head of Public Relations at GES, Mr. Daniel Fenyi, the Service explained that preparations have been completed…

Management of GES congratulated all BECE candidates for completing the examination and urged them to remain calm as placement processes are finalised.

It also dismissed reports claiming that about 72,000 candidates risk being denied placement, describing the figures as false and not based on facts.

The statement further stressed that there is sufficient infrastructure and capacity nationwide to accommodate all qualified students.

GES further assured stakeholders that the ongoing transition to phase out the double-track system will not limit access to Senior High or Technical Schools. Instead, the reform is aimed at improving teaching and learning outcomes while maintaining full access.

Management of GES reiterated its commitment to equitable and quality education for all Ghanaian children and called for public support for the placement process.
