BOST set up committees to resolve malpractices

The Board and Management of Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited,  (BOST), has set up committees to resolve once and for all alleged malpractices which have over the years crippled the company.

A statement issued by BOST Board Secretary, says it is expected that, issues will be resolved and the board fully briefed by the end of October.

The statement further said recommendations from the committees will set a new path for the company to energize it to attain the purpose of its establishment.

The Board and management further wish to assure the public and stakeholders of BOST that nothing will be left by chance in efforts toward streamlining its operations to deliver the maximum returns to the government and the people of Ghana.

The Board and Management of Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) wish to inform the public and all stakeholders that, Management upon the assumption of office of the new Managing Director, George Mensah Okley, has been tasked with resolving once and for all, practices which have over the years crippled the Company in its bid to execute its core mandate to manage the business of storage and transmission of fuel efficiently, effectively and profitably. Specifically, the clean-up includes

– Resolving the issues bordering on fuel contamination which has hitherto

become a regular occurrence at BOST – Resolving the practice of fuel losses from storage tanks and – Resolving liabilities and litigations which had been occasioned by some

of the above occurrences. The Board, pursuant to this, has set up a number of Committees to assist Management in this enterprise.

It is expected that these matters would be resolved and the Board fully briefed by the end of October subsequent to which all other stakeholders will equally be briefed.

It is our expectation that the reforms which will be triggered on the back of these recommendations and clean up, will set a new path for the Company and energize it towards the attainment of the purpose of its establishment. The Board and Management further wish to assure the general public and all stakeholders that, the Company is leaving nothing to chance in this effort towards streamlining its operations to deliver the maximum returns to the government and the people of Ghana.
