District Chief Executive for Ada West, Adzoteye Larweh Akrofi has defended the decision to lease the Songhor Lagoon to Electrochem Ghana Limited for 15 years to mine salt.
The agreement he believes will among other things help to reduce unemployment in the area.
In an interview with GBC News, Mr. Akrofi explained that under the agreement, a period of 21 days was given to resolve all pending issues, and wondered why there is now an opposition to the deal after it received Parliamentary approval.
