Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has challenged ECOWAS member states to build stronger synergies and integrate their markets to build agricultural stock reserves.

He said the Covid-19 pandemic has exposed vulnerabilities of food systems and therefore there is a need for more concerted effort among members to ensure regional food security.

He said government through its Planting for Food and Jobs initiative has set the tone to ensure that Ghana becomes food sufficient.

Vice President Bawumia was speaking at the closing ceremony of the International Conference on the West African Food Security Storage System in Accra.
