Industry Analysts predict Diesel and Petrol to hit 8 Cedis by close of March

As projected by the Institute for Energy Security, IES that fuel prices may hit GHC8 cedis by end of March 2022 checks by GBC News, today February 7 shows that Petrol and diesel prices at the pumps are above GHC 7 with a liter being the highest GHC7.50

Total being the highest priced is selling a liter for GHC7.50, whiles Shell, and Puma Energy are selling at GHC.48 for Petrol and GHC7.43 for diesel.

Allied is also selling Petrol at GHC7.40 and Diesel GHC7. 43.GOIL, and Pacific oil are trading between GHC7.30 and GHC7.20 for both Petrol and diesel.
The lowest priced fuel stations are Petrosol and Star oil trading at GHC6.95 and 6.90.

With the increases transport fares are likely to go up as commercial drivers are negotiating with government for a 30 % increment in fares.

According to the drivers and owners of private vehicles, constants increase of petroleum products at the pumps is deepening their hardship.

Energy Experts are attributing the constant rise in Petroleum products to the Cedi depreciation to the dollar, geopolitics between Russia and Ukraine and the recent re-introduction of the Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy.

This has intensified calls for the government to explore new strategic measures to lessen the impact of petroleum prices on consumers. If nothing is done about the prices Petrol and diesel are likely to hit the GHC 8 projection before March.
