The Ghana Grid Company, GRIDCo has informed the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council and officially written to five Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies about the reconstruction of the 24 Kilometre single circuit 161kV Kumasi-Konongo Transmission line and the need for residents to relocate.
The company is also engaging residents and stakeholders to facilitate the clearing of the designated project corridor.
The interaction with Community members has been positive, though there have been some hostility towards the GRIDCo team that undertook the Community engagements. Some residents acknowledged that they are close to the live wires under and within the corridors of the Kumasi-Konongo Power Line and are willing to move.
